Parish Council : Vacancy

After 30+ years, Roger Gunnett has retired as a Parish Councillor. He has done so much for the Parish over much longer than his 30 years as a Councillor, and the Parish Council thanked him for his service at their meeting on Monday. He will continue to organise the Friends of Holcot who look after the village, and a couple of other ongoing projects.

As a consequence, we have a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. The initial term is expected to be for one year (elections are due in May 2020).

A statutory notice will appear in another post. If you are interested in joining the Council, please write a short note to Lisa Callan (clerk@holcotvillage.co.uk) stating your reasons for becoming a Councillor. Subject to there being no requirement for an election, the Council will consider co-opting a candidate at their May 20 meeting.

If you would like to talk to me about the role, please call me on 781660 – or come and have a chat at our drop-in event on 26 April at 6:30pm in the pub. Alternatively speak to any Councillor.

Again, sincere thanks to Roger for everything he has done.

David Walker

Chair
