The Friends of Holcot Playing Field are organising a Christmas fayre and Santa’s grotto in the village hall on 10 December from 2pm to 6pm.
It is £10 for a stall, plus they are asking for those with stalls to make a donation to a raffle.
Details are being finalised, but there will be a Santa’s grotto and games, and there are already some great stalls booked.
The Facebook event link is here – please like, share and comment. You can also see details of stalls that are already confirmed.
Contact Jackie Fountain (email@example.com) or Lisa Callan (firstname.lastname@example.org) for tables, further information or with offers of help.
As you are aware, a few ladies in the village have formed a ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’ group, in an attempt to raise enough funds to give the playground a much needed overhaul. The ladies have been looking at various avenues of fundraising, so far they have raised over £1000. They have discovered a way that everyone in the parish could help.
The ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’ have asked that I remind you that they have recently registered for easyfundraising. They would like to ask residents and their friends and family to please help raise money for the playing field by using the easy funding website www.easyfundraising.org.uk when shopping online, and signing up for free.
Instead of going directly to the retailer website, log into www.easyfundraising.org.uk or download the easy fundraising app. You will then be asked to choose the cause you wish to support. Please search for ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’, and then you will be taken to the retailer’s website where you shop as you normally would (there are over 3000 retailers on board, including shops such as Amazon, John Lewis, Waitrose and other supermarkets, etc). Because you visited www.easyfundraising.org.uk first, the retailer will then make a free donation to your cause.
This will not cost you anything, only a couple of minutes of your time to register once. Don’t forget to go through easyfundraising every time you shop online.
The Friends of Holcot Playing Field really need your help and support, which would be very much appreciated.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact Lisa Callan (email@example.com) or Jackie Fountain (firstname.lastname@example.org).
A letter and information booklet have been added to the Neighbourhood Watch page providing information from the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable regarding the changes to policing commencing 30 October.
Please see the road safety page for details of A43 closures during weekends in November and December.
Dave Cooke is searching for materials for a new art work.
If you have any horse brasses that you are able to donate, please contact Dave (781130, Bareen Cottage in Back Lane).
