Playing field : Fund-raising raffle and update

16582495075 c4a74c46f5 z

The Friends of Holcot Playing Field would like to thank everyone who supported the recent fundraising raffle.

Huge thanks to everyone who was kind enough to donate prizes, and to those who purchased tickets. Thank you also to Hayley and Martin at the White Swan, for letting us draw the raffle there.

£679 was raised, which will be put towards new equipment for the playing field. Thank you so much for your support.

On top of this, our County Councillor Judy Shepherd has been able to donate £431. Thanks Judy! A great start on both accounts.

The group are in the process of setting up a bank account, and will be planning how to raise further funds (hopefully from grants) over the coming months. If anyone has any good ideas, or sources of funding 🙂 , please contact the group via Lisa or Jackie (clerk@holcotvillage.co.uk is the easiest email address to reach them).

The Friends are investigating the best way of achieving a lasting difference in our playing field, with installation probably on a phased basis aligned to their success in attracting funding. Again, please get involved if you can.

Thanks everyone.

Playing field improvement : fundraising commencing

As you are aware, a few ladies in the village have formed a ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’ group, in an attempt to raise enough funds to give the playground a much needed overhaul.  The ladies have been looking at various avenues of fundraising, and have discovered a way that everyone in the parish could help.

The ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’ have recently registered for easyfundraising.  They would like to ask residents and their friends and family to please help raise money for the playing field by using the easy funding website www.easyfundraising.org.uk when shopping online, and signing up for free.

Instead of going directly to the retailer website, log into www.easyfundraising.org.uk  or download the easy fundraising app.  You will then be asked to choose the cause you wish to support.  Please search for ‘Friends of Holcot Playing Field’, and then you will be taken to the retailer’s website where you shop as you normally would (there are over 3000 retailers on board, including shops such as Amazon, John Lewis, Waitrose and other supermarkets, etc).  Because you visited www.easyfundraising.org.uk  first, the retailer will then make a free donation to your cause.

This will not cost you anything, only a couple of minutes of your time to register once.  Don’t forget to go through easyfundraising every time you shop online.

The Friends of Holcot Playing Field really need your help and support, which would be very much appreciated.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact Lisa Callan (lisa.callan@yahoo.com) or Jackie Fountain (jfountain40@googlemail.com).
