The Holcot Hub welcomes around 10 children each week. Please come along children!
The Hub held a successful pizza night before Christmas, and are planning bowling and trampolining evenings in the near future. They are hoping to acquire outdoor sports equipment for use in the summer.
The Holcot Hub relies on adult volunteers – if you are interested in helping contact Andie Merrey firstname.lastname@example.org
The annual jumble sale is on Saturday, 3rd February 2018, starting at 2pm in the Village Hall. Entrance is 50p per person.
PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY NOW!
Please sort out all your unwanted Christmas gifts, jumble, books, bric-a-brac etc. Nothing saleable refused, except for electrical goods (unless it can be shown they’ve been PAT tested).
Please bring your items to the Village Hall 10am-noon on Saturday 3rd February or alternatively phone Pat McGlasson 781215 if you need to arrange collection/delivery.
We would also be grateful for any help at this event – please let Pat know.
Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
With your support the Parish Council wants to continue with Community Speedwatch in 2018. You will know that we have speed problems in Holcot, and that the Parish Council continue to push for extending the 30mph limit outside the village and potentially creating a 20mph zone in the village.
As in 2017 we will get use of the speed gun, and associated signage. We need volunteers to support the community in raising awareness of excessive speed over three weeks. All it takes is an hour a session – the more volunteers the fewer the sessions any individual has to undertake. Please email Lisa email@example.com to volunteer.
The information we have;
- Training is on 2 June (there are other dates available)
- We are sharing the equipment with Moulton this year – week’s commencing 16 June, 30 June, 14 July
Even if you can’t help one of these weeks, please volunteer.
The “Friends of Holcot” are a group of volunteers who undertake projects around the parish. Some projects are small, such as tidying up the paths and alleyways or cleaning the road signs, others are larger such as bringing the washbrook back to life, clearing the churchyard extension, or work on the playing field.
The group are friendly bunch and meet for an hour or two on Friday at 10am twice a month when weather allows – normally first and third Fridays.
The Friends create their work list from parishioners and the Parish Council. They are organised by Roger Gunnett (781686, firstname.lastname@example.org).
Contact Roger if you would like to get involved – no skills or specific commitment is required. Additionally, if you have any ideas of things that would benefit from the Friends activity, please contact Roger.
As a parish we are very grateful for everything that the Friends do to keep everything in a good state – thanks!
See the Friends of Holcot webpage.
On the first and third Wednesday of each month the Church organises a coffee and cake event at 11am in the Church Room. Coffee, cake and a natter!
There is also a short service of morning prayer at 10:30am, to which everyone is welcome.
